Jiu-jitsu forSuntree

Suntree sits just south of Viera, which makes the trip up to Merritt Island much the same run — I-95 north and then east across the river.

Suntree students

Suntree onthe mats

Most Suntree students train two evenings a week and take the I-95 run in their stride. They tend to be adults arriving from another sport entirely — running, lifting, cycling — who wanted something that would still be interesting in five years' time rather than just harder.

For people who like learning things

Our Suntree students skew towards adults who have been physically active for years and wanted a skill to go with the fitness. Jiu-jitsu suits that mindset because it never runs out — there is always another layer, another detail, another problem you cannot yet solve. People who enjoy being beginners again do very well here.
